Job Description
What you get to do in this role:As a Senior Staff Software Engineer you will have the opportunity to become a key member of the Cloud Platform group building Cloud Infrastructure Services and APIs to manage the full lifecycle of application and database code. Performance, reliability, scalability, and high availability are always at the core of our work. Qualifications
To be successful in this role you have:Demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies and systems quicklyIntermediate level understanding of Centos/RHEL OS and experience installing & maintaining services.Familiarity with a Linux command prompt for both administration and shell scripting10+ years of experience in coding efficient, object-oriented, modularized and quality softwareExceptional debugging, testing, and critical thinking & problem-solving skillsDemonstrated success working independently and as a team to complete complex projects, on timeExperience developing, building, and maintaining a platform for a large-scale Enterprise Application with 10,000+ physical hostsExperience with troubleshooting difficult production issues e.g. memory leaks, network problems, and various intermittent failures across the stackAbility to deal with interruptions and adapt to changing priorities within the team.Desired Skills:Experience working in a DevOps environmentExperience working in an internal customer focused environmentLoves database technologies with experience developing, troubleshooting, and optimizing relational databases including Oracle, MySQL, MariaDB, PostgresSQL, as well as time series database technologies.Familiarity with Puppet, Jenkins, Vagrant, VirtualBox, and RubyMine are a plusFamiliarity with Cloud Technologies - OpenStack, AWS, or Azure are a plusFamiliarity with using git to manage source codeFor positions in California (outside of the Bay Area), we offer a base pay of $136,800 - $239,400, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs (subject to eligibility requirements). Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located, and is subject to change based on work location. For individuals who will be working in the Bay Area, there is a pay enhancement for positions located in that geographical area; please contact your recruiter for additional information.
