Your Responsibilities
As a Staff Engineer , Product for John Deere Horicon Works located in Horicon, Wisconsin , (centrally located between Milwaukee, WI and Madison, WI), you will:
Provide strategic direction, technical oversight, and schedule adherence to Product Development Process (PDP) and innovation study projects that will feed future Utility Vehicle product development.
Research and develop ideas to meet or exceed customer expectations with performance, cost, manufacturability, durability, and reliability focus.
Leverage core and flex resources to execute work, providing work direction and oversight.
Develop capabilities and grow skillsets of team members.

What Skills You Need
5 or more years of technical experience related to off road vehicle design and development.
5 or more years collaborating with cross functional teams to put innovative ideas into production and supporting the product after start of production.
5 or more years using engineering tools and systems (Creo, SAP, PDM, analysis and simulation).
Demonstrated experience with complex systems design and implementation.
Demonstrated capability performing in an engineering team environment and interfacing with engineers and personnel of other disciplines.
Proven ability to hold technical teams and individuals accountable without direct reporting structure.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
What Makes You Stand Out
In depth knowledge of off-road utility vehicle (UTV, SxS) design and development.
Strong Systems Engineering background with focus on requirements gathering, trade space analysis, and concept selection.
Experience determining high level architecture for complex vehicle systems.
3 or more years’ experience working in cross functional roles such as manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, operations, marketing, etc.
Proven experience implementing a cost-conscious culture.
Familiarity with Deere systems and processes.
Demonstrated experience developing capabilities and skills in teams and individuals.
Military experience.
Bilingual Spanish/English.
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and/or 5 years of related experience.What You'll Get
