Located in the Los Angeles, California area, this temporary to hire position is an engaging, multi-faceted opportunity where hard work is rewarded. The Staff Accountant plays a major role in the preparation of monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. This position is very involved as it will produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. You'll also have responsibility over various aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. In addition, you will take part in compliance, communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes.
Your responsibilities
Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management
Organize capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner
Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Keep up fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed
Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments
Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Requirements - Knowledgeable of ERP systems
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills
Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
Proficiency in bank reconciliations
General ledger experience
Well-founded grasp of Adjusting Journal Entries
Proven knowledge of month end closings
Solid understanding of QuickBooks
Expertise in Sage Intacct
Experience with financial reporting
Excellent attention to detail
Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
