Description Robert Half is on the look-out for an organized individual with accounting chops to join a growing organization in the long-term contract / temporary role of Staff Accountant. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for the preparation of journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting. You will promote the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. A highly involved position, it works to produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Key responsibilities
Execute month end close, journal entries, with little supervision
Take part in various department-wide initiatives
Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner
Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Maintain monthly payment schedules
Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management Requirements - Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Accounts Payable (AP) experience
Command of Accounts Receivable (AR)
Strong familiarity with Excel Formulas
Microsoft Excel experience preferred
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Strong attention to detail
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Current and relevant ERP system experience
Skilled in analytical, quantitative and social skills
