Description

Robert Half's home furnishings distribution client in Brisbane is seeking a bright and enthusiastic Staff Accountant to join their finance team. You will play a crucial role in supporting their day-to-day accounting operations and contribute directly to the financial health of the company. You'll work closely with the Senior accountant and have the chance to learn from experienced professionals.

Responsibilities:

Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.

Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements.

Assist with month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries and reconciliations.

Maintain accurate and organized financial records.

Prepare and analyze financial reports.

Assist with audits and tax preparations.

Support the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.

Identify and suggest process improvements for increased efficiency.

Perform other accounting duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.

0-2 years of relevant accounting experience (entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply!).

Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced skills preferred).

Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite) is a plus.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
