Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Sarasota, Florida. This role is primarily within the industry where you'll be handling a variety of tasks including managing Accounts Receivable (AR), ensuring sales tax compliance, performing bank reconciliations, supporting inventory management, and administering dealer rebate programs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day AR tasks such as invoicing and collecting payments.

• Conduct credit assessments on clients to establish suitable account limits and keep track of credit risks.

• Collaborate on B2B transactions, ensuring client account records are accurate and updated.

• Guarantee compliance with multi-state sales tax regulations using Avalara, ensuring accurate calculations, recordings, and timely reporting of sales taxes.

• Work in a team to address any arising sales tax issues for smooth filing.

• Take responsibility for daily reconciliation of three bank accounts, prioritizing the primary account that processes the majority of transactions.

• Investigate any discrepancies in transactions and ensure accurate and prompt posting.

• Assist in tracking inventory by reconciling bulk material with partial role conversions in QuickBooks to minimize errors in journal entries.

• Administer the dealer rebate program, support in calculating rebates, and ensure accurate coding for dealer incentives.

• Prepare and process rebate checks in compliance with program rules. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) management

• Strong skills in handling Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience with bank reconciliations

• Knowledge of General Ledger maintenance

• Ability to manage and record Journal Entries accurately

• Familiarity with Month End Close procedures

• Proficient in using QuickBooks accounting software

• Experience with Avalara software

• Understanding of Sales Tax processes and regulations
