Description We are looking for a meticulous Staff Accountant to join our team in the Wholesale Distribution industry, based in Beloit, Wisconsin, United States. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity. The Staff Accountant will be instrumental in handling accounts payable, assisting in tax calculations, and managing various tasks within the accounting department.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all aspects of accounts payable.

• Assist with cost accounting for inventory items, including duties, incentives, billbacks, and more.

• Aid in the calculation and reporting of Sales/Use/Tobacco Tax.

• Compute quarterly royalty payments for foreign vendors.

• Apply understanding of accrual-based accounting to ensure transactions are correctly posted to the appropriate period.

• Draft and balance journal entries and general ledger accounts.

• Contribute to other tasks as needed within the accounting department.

• Familiarize with different accounting software like NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP for efficient task completion.

• Assist in bank reconciliations and month-end close process.

• Process customer credit applications and maintain accurate customer credit records. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Minimum of three years of experience in a similar role within the Wholesale Distribution industry

• Proficiency in accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP

• Solid experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Familiarity with Bank Reconciliations

• Experience with General Ledger and Journal Entries

• Ability to handle Month End Close activities

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines

• Knowledge of applicable laws, codes and regulations

• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
