This company is located in the San Francisco, California region and is offering a dynamic, mulit-faceted long-term contract / temporary opportunity where effort is rewarded. As Staff Accountant, your duties will include preparing monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. This position will require a fair amount of time dedicated to producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. During the monthly close, you will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting. You'll also be involved in compliance, communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes.

How you will make an impact

Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments

Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed

Keep up fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

Execute month end close, journal entries, with little supervision

Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

Be responsible for analysis of income statements and balance sheets and communicate findings to management

Aid in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

Report on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner

Maintain monthly payment schedules Requirements - Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

Spreadsheet and database capabilities

Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines

BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

Skilled with ERP systems

Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills

3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

Journal entries experience required

Strong familiarity with procurement

Comprehensive knowledge of Abila MIP

Accomplished in analytical, quantitative and social skills

Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

Competent with spreadsheets and databases
