We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our amazing team. To achieve success this position will need to have a strong communication skillset, attention to detail, and a persistent follow-through attitude. Ensuring compliance regarding security awareness training, risk mitigation, 3rd party vendor review, and policy adherence are the primary responsibilities of this position. In addition this position is responsible for creating and maintaining all security policies and standards, and oversight of internal and external audit requests.
Location: This position will be HYBRID out of our home office in San Diego, CA: 10150 Meanley Drive, San Diego 92131
Position Purpose:
Processes journal entries and assists in month-end closing and annual audits.
Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepares month-end closing journal entries and uploads them into Sage Intacct ERP accounting system
Performs detailed reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
Collaborates with other departments to gather pertinent data for month-end close
Prepares audit support and performs other tasks related to the year-end audit
Prepares monthly flux analysis including explanation of variances
Responds to accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
Performs Fixed Assets Reconciliations and maintains accurate fixed assets listings
Maintains accurate listings of all TA loans
Performs monthly bank reconciliations for certain assigned cash accounts
Other projects and duties as assigned
Supports Company Mission and Corporate Values
Maintains consistent office hours
Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
Minimum 2 years of experience as staff accountant preferred.
Financial services experience preferred.
Proficient with Excel, Word, Sage Intacct ERP, Outlook, 10-key by touch.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest and commissions.
