They've partnered with an esteemed organization to find an experienced Staff Accountant for their team. In this position, the Staff Accountant prepares journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will have charge over many aspects of internal reporting. Your duties will also include participating in compliance, reviewing schedules for the reporting processes, and staying connected with our external auditors throughout quarterly reviews and annual audits. The majority of time spent in this position involves producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Located in the Mt. Holly, New Jersey area, the company offering this challenging long-term contract opportunity provides a thriving environment and rewards effort.
What you get to do every single day
Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Execute month end close, journal entries, with little supervision
Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed
Create monthly statement analysis to be used for management reporting's
Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Offer descriptions of a large number of financial data and communicate insights in a useful and understandable manner
Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Requirements
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Knowledgeable of ERP systems
Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
Journal entries experience preferred
Comprehensive knowledge of account reconciliation
Deep understanding of GAAP Accounting
Experience with Microsoft Excel
