Based in the Wildwood, New Jersey region, this company offers an engaging and multi-faceted long-term contract opportunity where effort is rewarded. As Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. A very involved position, this role produces Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. During the monthly close, you will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting. In addition, you will be in charge of communicating with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, playing an active role in compliance, and looking over schedules for the reporting processes.
How you will make an impact
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Partake in annual closing processes
Take part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP
Participate in various department-wide initiatives
Conduct months end close, journal entries, without supervision
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Be responsible for analysis of income statements and balance sheets and communicate findings to management
Maintain monthly payment schedules
Report on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner
Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Requirements
Account reconciliation experience preferred
Comprehensive knowledge of bank reconciliations
Deep understanding of Microsoft Excel
Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high-pressure environment
Skilled with ERP systems
Extraordinary analytical, quantitative and social skills
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
