As a Staff Accountant, you will be an integral part of our finance team, contributing to the overall financial health and success of the organization. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of accounting functions, including financial reporting, reconciliations, and analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and a keen attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
General Ledger Maintenance:
Record and reconcile financial transactions in the general ledger.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting records.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
Process accounts payable transactions, including vendor invoices and payments.
Assist in accounts receivable activities, including customer invoicing and collections.
Bank Reconciliations:
Perform regular bank reconciliations to verify accuracy of financial transactions.Budgeting and Forecasting:
Collaborate in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
Monitor actual performance against budgeted expectations.
Fixed Assets Management:
Maintain records of fixed assets, including depreciation calculations.
Conduct periodic physical inventory checks.
Expense Analysis:
Analyze and report on variances in expenses.
Investigate and explain any discrepancies.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies.
Assist in audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Financial Analysis:
Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
Tax Filings:
Assist in the preparation of tax returns and compliance activities.
Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations.
Requirements
2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
Experience: Proven experience in accounting roles, with a strong understanding of GAAP.
Software Skills: Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Communication Skills: Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Detail-Oriented: High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Team Player: Collaborative mindset and ability to work well within a team.
