  Company Description The St. James Hotel is an iconic, boutique hotel providing modern conveniences, yet steeped in rich history and Victorian charm. The Hotel offers luxurious amenities and culinary delights delivered by remarkable hospitality professionals. Job Description The St James Hotel is seeking a Food and Beverage Restaurant Manager to oversee operations of the food and beverage outlets at the Hotel and FOH personnel. This role will work closely with the Food and Beverage Director to ensure that daily operations of restaurant outlets run smoothly, efficiently, profitably, and focus on guest satisfaction. Essential Duties: Create a positive and upbeat atmosphere of engagement for our guests and team. Provide coaching, on-going development/action plans and performance management for the assigned managers and associates to support and foster exceptional performance resulting in a positive impact upon our guest's experience. Build relationships with team at all levels, acting as the conduit of collaboration between front of house and back of house. Food & beverage inventory, ordering and receiving accountability (includes cleaning operating supplies, liquor, beer, wine, and food). Build relationships with customers, employees, vendors, and community members to create a positive reputation for the restaurant. Oversight for Server, Bartender and other schedules, training, and on-going development. Ensure readiness for internal and external audits such as: Alcohol Awareness, Food Safety / Sanitation, Health Inspection, Safety Training/Certification. Implement inventory/cost Control and mitigation programs at a site level to enhance profit by reducing waste and avoiding loss. Opening and closing tasks such as checklist completion, cash handling and deposits. Ability to work a variety of hours, days and shifts, including weekends and holidays. Qualifications Three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience or career path leading up to this position. A degree in hospitality management or a related field is a plus. Candidates must possess strong leadership and organizational skills, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving abilities; Demonstrate thorough understanding of the restaurant industry, including trends, regulations, and best practices; Knowledge based on table service, cocktail making, domestic-craft beer and wine; Experience in proper product pricing, beverage menu development and well as product ordering. Certifications in Food Safety and Alcohol Server/Seller are a plus. Additional Information The St. James Hotel is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
