  PAY RANGE

  The Target Pay Range for this position is $100,900-$123,200 annually. The full Pay Range is $78,400-$145,800 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

Employees have access to disability and AD&D insurance. We also offer health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, as well as health savings accounts, to eligible employees. Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan and employer-funded retirement plan. Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year.   IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE :

  As a Sr. Workplace Accommodation Specialist, you will play a crucial role in facilitating the interactive process of accommodation for qualified employees with disabilities. You will be instrumental in ensuring that reasonable accommodation is provided timely, efficiently, and effectively, making a direct impact on the workplace accessibility and inclusivity. Your expertise will contribute to compliance with federal and state employment and privacy laws, and your efforts will directly support employees in performing the essential functions of their jobs.

  This role can be done remotely from WA, OR, ID, AZ, TX, GA, SC.*

  WHAT YOU’LL DO :

  Expert Guidance and Proactive Administration: Interpret and administer the accommodation program and policies in accordance with applicable federal and state employment laws, ensuring proactive compliance with regulations such as the ADAAA, FMLA, USERRA, and State Paid Leave plans. Advise and make recommendations on accommodations in alignment with employment and leave laws, providing proactive support to employees and managers.

  Process Engagement and Building Relationships: Engage in the interactive process with managers, educating them about disability rights and employer responsibilities under the ADAAA regulations for reasonable accommodation requests. Foster business relationships with managers, offering guidance and consultative advice to manage accommodation requests effectively.

  Assessing and Documenting Accommodation Requests: Review and interpret confidential medical documentation to determine eligibility for reasonable accommodations, ensuring a clear understanding of essential job functions. Document reasonable accommodation requests, the interactive process, and recommendations in the ER Case Management System (HR Acuity).

  Collaboration and Training: Collaborate with managers and coworkers to develop and conduct training on ADA reasonable accommodations and intersecting laws, including federal and state leave laws. Collaborate with the Employee Relations team to manage complex cases effectively.

  Adaptive Communication and Skills: Utilize strong verbal and written communication skills to consult and advise internally and externally, including engaging with health care providers, vendors, and regulatory agencies. Apply organizational, time-management, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

  BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

  Minimum of five years of experience managing workplace accommodation requests under the Americans with Disabilities Act and employee leaves of absence plans.

  Experience working with federal and state disability and leave laws, specifically the ADAAA and FMLA.

  PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and preferably Workday experience.

  Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.

  Interpersonal skills to effectively consult, advise, and influence internally at all levels of the organization and externally with health care providers, vendors, and regulatory agencies.

  Experience working independently and as part of a team, establishing effective working relationships with colleagues.

  Experience applying discretion and independent judgment, exercising confidentiality, and demonstrating respect and due diligence in sensitive situations.

  Demonstrated organizational, time-management, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
