Lead supplier qualification and new product qualifications. Including Systems and Process audits, APQP activities, Run at Rate, and PPAP review before approvals are granted. Participate and support cross-functional teams with plant manufacturing, quality, and materials personnel, Global sourcing, R&D, and GSC engineering personnel. Responsible for leading on-site supplier assessments of both existing & potential new sources of materials and leading the ongoing development against set KPI's including quality, delivery & sustainability. Assess supplier costs in support of ongoing value engineering and value analysis programs. Lead Cost Down Workshops with suppliers and lead introduction of ideas generated by coordinating activities with suppliers and internal key stakeholders. Identify known and new suppliers for opportunities to source materials from low-cost countries, focusing on (but not exclusively) Mexico. The role will require extended periods to be spent working away from home, particularly in Mexico and other overseas countries supporting business needs. Adherence to the NSG/Pilkington Standards of Business Conduct and its' Values and Principles. Represent Procurement function for both customer and external certification audits. Support issues relating to North American suppliers impacting other regions and ensure support is given to North American issues relating to suppliers from other regions (effective communication skills with other cultures are essential).Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related Engineering field. Five years of progressively-responsible, post-baccalaureate experience in Procurement, Engineering, or Supply Chain. The applicant must have professional experience with each of the following: 1. Quality engineering, quality auditing, or quality management; 2. Production scheduling and inventory management; 3. Manufacturing accounting systems; 4. Microsoft Office Suite Software; and 5. New Model Introduction (NMI) and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) experience in Original Equipment (OE) and/or tier-1 automotive environment.
