  *This position is eligible to be filled at the Engineering Sr. Analyst or Engineering Consultant level, depending on qualifications and skillsets. Position Summary: Join Securian Financial as a Sr. Software Engineer! Contribute to transforming Claims experiences for our customers through hands-on implementation of our new technology direction. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Architecture and Cyber Security, to meet and exceed customer expectations. As a key member of our agile team, you'll play a crucial role in delivering robust system capabilities that align with our financial services/insurance mission of securing our customers' tomorrows. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Perform analysis, design, development, testing, integration, and implementation activities of varying complexity. Work to solve problems innovatively and with a test and learn mindset. Support modernization efforts such as leveraging AWS cloud native capabilities. Develop and maintain platform/team business knowledge. Ensure effective and favorable relationships are developed and maintained with key stakeholders. Provide ongoing support for business applications and respond to production needs. Qualifications: 3+ years of full stack, Java development experience. 2+ years' experience with Amazon Web Services and AWS capabilities such as Lambda, Serverless, & EC2. Exposure to service-oriented architectures, leveraging Java, JavaScript, Gradle, SQL, and JPA, along with familiarity with YUI and Jquery. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Collaboration and the ability to work within an agile environment. Strong problem-solving skills. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/related field or guild/bootcamp training or other relevant professional experience. #LI-hybrid This position will be in a hybrid working arrangement. Physical job requirements: Ability to utilize the keyboard, computer and/or mouse for up to 8 hours per day. Ability to work at least 40 hours per week. Ability to utilize the phone and/or virtual meeting platform for 1-4 hours per day.
