  • Establish the best maintenance practices for specific pieces of equipment and/or equipment types.

  • Evaluates and quantifies the impact projects such as equipment reconfigurations, design changes, equipment quality, will have on ability to meet customer needs.

  • Generate and utilize Pareto Charts to identify and analyze equipment failures to prioritize maintenance functions and equipment improvements.

  • In SAP, update equipment data, preventive maintenance task lists, critical spare parts lists and diagnostic methods as necessary to improve reliability.

  • Perform root cause failure analysis on equipment failures and develop strategies to prevent recurrence.

  • Risk assessment and risk mitigation methodologies (FMECA, HAZOP, RCM, …)

  • Responsible for the reliability and failure minimization of all equipment in the respective area to which it is assigned.

  • You coordinate multi-disciplinary teams consisting of Production Managers, Maintenance Managers, Project Engineers, Supervisors, Operators and craftsmen, using RCM, FME and other methodologies.

  • You realize this by maximizing the reliability of the equipment at an economically Total Cost of Ownership

  • You organize proactive Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) sessions and reactive root cause analyses.

  • Manage site relief device program, piping, boiler, vessel, and tank inspection programs.

  • Evaluate corrosion rates and remaining life and recommend changes to inspection frequencies and methods.

  • Lead engineer for API inspectors

  • Participates in the final check out of new installations.

  • Analyze data (failure, cost, uptime,) using appropriate reliability analysis tools to develop & implement improvement plans

  • Ability to locate and/or rank problem assets to lower maintenance costs and prioritize recapitalization.

  RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Manage plant implementation and adoption.

  • Manage master data.

  • Administer new employee training.

  • Assist plant manufacturing production, maintenance, and reliability teams with data analytics and reporting necessary to maintain and improve daily plant manufacturing performance.

  • Implement changes in collaboration with asset owner and maintenance personnel to optimize PMs.

  • Apply appropriate reliability tools to drive improvements, optimizing costs, and improve Asset Effectiveness (i.e., Bad Actor Program, FMEA, RBI, RBM, RCM, Reliability Roadmap)

  • Oversee the Bad Actor Program along with the Operational Excellence Engineer and create action plans for improving reliability.

  • Guide Asset Effectiveness improvements through the identification of lost availability and poor reliability

  • Evaluate and execute improvements to plant physical assets to minimize total cost of ownership considering asset replacement, business priorities, and capital expenditures.

  • Work with Reliability Experts from other sites and within the industry to continue development of a multi-year reliability improvement plan.

  • Maintain all reliability maintenance records and files for the analysis and reporting of all reliability maintenance-related business matters.

  • Support of all EH&S policies and procedures; specifically, around PSM and Mechanical Integrity Program

  • Systematically review and implement long term solutions to improve the reliability of the plant’s fixed equipment and eliminate unscheduled downtime.

  • Properly measure, test, and analyze equipment condition and develop an appropriate preventative maintenance schedule to reduce premature equipment failures.

  • Develop engineering solutions to maintenance problems, including ways of reducing or eliminating the need for maintenance through equipment replacement or improvement work.

  • Analyze the effects of preventive maintenance on equipment reliability and maintenance costs for evaluation as a basis for equipment design decisions.

  • Review code and engineering standards related to project design requirements.

  • Identify opportunities and implement solutions which lead to equipment and process improvements.

   

  MUST HAVE:  

  • A strong background in Process Excellence, Six Sigma, Lean methodologies or prerational excellence preferred.

  • Subject Matter Expert in API and ASME codes.

  • 3+ years of chemical plant, manufacturing, or other industry experience as a reliability engineer preferred.

  • Familiarity with Maximo and/or SAP applications programming (assets, PM’s, job plans, routes, reporting)

  • Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) is nice and cool.

  • BS in Engineering Background with statistical or reliability software package

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  WE VALUE:  

  • API 653 Certification

  • If a candidate does not hold certification, it is expected that the candidate will successfully pursue and attain certification once on the job.

  • Experience with Inspection Data Management System

  • Formal training or equivalent experience in the use of Reliability Centered Maintenance techniques.

  • Experience with SAP/S4 Hana, AutoCAD, Trap Man

  • Prior supervisory experience

  • Reliability Manager or Program implementation

  • 5+ years of experience working in a chemical plant environment.

  • 3+ years of experience in a Maintenance or Reliability Engineer role or engineering role

  • Experience in PSM (chemical/petrochemical/manufacturing plant reliability and maintenance
