Senior R&D Technician
Plymouth, MN

As a Senior R&D Technician , you will be part of our Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) research and development team focused on delivering the future in heart valve therapy. This role may involve a range of responsibilities including but not limited to CAD model creation and documentation, prototyping, bench testing, test fixture design and fabrication, test method development, and working in a collaborative environment with teammates.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Build working prototypes and fixtures using techniques such as mill, lathe, reflow oven, etc.
Independently conduct testing and prototyping efficiently and effectively
Train users into prototyping processes developed with minimal oversite
Work from schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions
Develop test methods and conduct model development, as needed
Create and maintain 3D CAD models, assemblies and prints
Construct, operate, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, maintain and test equipment, systems or products
Qualify equipment for processing and testing of medical devices
Follow Good Documentation Practices to capture data into Excel, Minitab, or paper datasheets
Use observations and critical thinking to identify important observations and trends during product testing and then clearly communicate them to the broader team
Identify product or project risks and suggestions for potential mitigations
Be a strong team player with demonstrated ability to use critical thinking skills
Maintain positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees and suppliers
Comply with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments
Experience and Education Requirements:
Minimum 6 years of work experience, primarily in R&D engineering
Associate’s degree or 4 years of additional experience
Ability to work within cross-functional teams as an individual contributor in a fast-paced environment
Strong verbal and written communications
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with delivery systems or reflowed catheter shafts
Experience with modeling tools like SolidWorks preferred
Experience with most basic statistical analysis tools like Minitab preferred
Experience with Good Documentation Practices preferred

The base pay for this position is $23.25 – $46.45 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
