This is anopportunity to join the VES team for an exciting career on the cutting edge indata storage product and server product design.Sr. Mechanical Design EngineerJob Purpose:The senior-level Mechanical Design Engineer will participate in the mechanicaldevelopment of data storage and server systems consisting of numerous harddrives with high speed communication interfaces. The project teams consist ofcross-functional personnel and as a member your creative thinking and judgmentwill contribute to the overall resolution of technical, logistical,cost, and schedule issues for the program.This is a high-impact, high visibility opportunity for the right individualwho has developed a substantial skill-set, has good self-managementabilities, a can-do attitude and an enthusiasm for success.Nature of Duties:Advanced level design work - participate in various server and storageenclosures and sub-assemblies designs includingsheet metalplastic designDrive mounting and carrier designFocus on tolerance analysis, usability, reuse, manufacturability, materialsThermal analysis and designFunctional team leadershipVender developmentIntellectual property generationPerform design simulations to ensure "right-the-first-time" designs.Transport rack and crate design, prototype and validationComponent drawing and BOM system creationMechanical execution of tests and publication of test resultsWork with outside suppliers as necessary to meet cost targets and schedulesContribute to design process enhancements.Domestic and international travel may be required support manufacturing andcomponent fabrication.Education and Experience:BSME degree required, MSME desiredFive to eight year of relevant design experience.Proficient in Solidworks and Solidworks FlowExperience with design for thermal performanceExcels in team atmosphereSalary range: $115k-130kSanmina is an Equal Opportunity Employer -M/F/Veteran/Disability/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity
