Main Responsibilities:
Implement to guidelines for the quality safe storage, segregation, and handling of hazardous materials. Follow Dignity at Work Policy, Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, and things we value. Participate in quality initiatives for improvements and cost savings. Ensure good customer service and adherence to departmental standards. Follow ISO 9002 Quality Standards and ISO 14001 Environmental Standards. Check receipt of packaging components or delivery of finished stock for quality, quantity, and agreement with packaging work order. Review open customer orders, build pick worksheets on an as needed basis to efficiently meet the customer shipping schedule and satisfy the requested ship dates. Pack customer orders efficiently, adhering to transportation regulations for dangerous goods. Receive and sort parcels/pallets, following safety protocols. Attention to detail is important to ensure quality of shipments and completion of appropriate shipping documentation. Responsible for maintaining accurate staffing levels, scheduling, and coordinating work assignments within the company policies and procedures. Operate and maintain warehouse equipment legally with relevant training. Ensure all work is carried out safely and efficiently, following legislation and company procedures. Achieve and maintain departmental metrics and targets with attention to detail.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Ability to understand written and verbal procedures in English. Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy plus attention to detail. Previous warehouse experience, especially in forklift, picking, packing, goods in, and dispatch. Team-oriented with a focus on efficiency, quality, and attention to detail. Positive demeanour towards encouraging a positive working environment and continuous improvement. Self-motivated and capable of working alone or within a team. Knowledge of applicable health and safety procedures. Ability to meet efficiency, quality, and safety targets. Proficient interpersonal skills across diverse audiences, including colleagues, customers and various management levels. Ability to develop and deliver training related to warehouse operations, including compliance training, write procedures and develop plans. Must be able to resolve conflict well and give positive and negative feedback along with handling performance issues. Adopt and participate in PPI (Practical Process Improvement) initiatives to identify improvements and cost saving to the business. Ability to lift materials weighing up to 25Kg. Employee to employ traditional lifting techniques for materials up to 25Kg. Items over 25Kg will require the employee to use non traditional techniques including, push-pull method, automated lifts and other equipment or additional techniques. Employee will be trained in these techniques upon employment. Employees already in position will require one time training. Basic understanding of IATA, IMDG, ADR regulations would be an advantage.
Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:
Basic knowledge of the English language. Physically able to work within a highly controlled warehouse environment. Ability and willingness to learn technical skills and the ability to train/mentor others
