Our Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Senior Managing Engineer with expertise in ADAS, EVs and/or AVs for our Vehicle Engineering Practice in Natick, MA; Phoenix, AZ; Atlanta, GA; Farmington Hills, MI; Menlo Park, CA; or Los Angeles, CA. In this role you will work as part of a team executing consulting projects that involve the analysis and testing of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS); automated vehicles; electric vehicles; vehicle, engine, and component performance (e.g., emissions; fuel economy; noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH); drivability; acceleration; etc.); federal emissions and fuel economy testing; mechanical failures; safety assessments; federal and state regulations; and the design of consumer and industrial products. You will ultimately have the opportunity to develop your own consulting practice and grow professionally within Exponent.
You will be responsible for
Managing projects from initiation to completion; communicating project updates to other team members, clients, and administrative staff; ensuring that Exponent meets its deadlines and produces exceptional work product; and identifying business development opportunities
Developing and managing client relationships
Project and cost management on casework
Setting up and executing various test programs including full-scale vehicle tests and component or control systems evaluations
Continue to develop specialized expertise in the automotive field such as the design, performance, and testing of existing or emerging automotive technology
Managing, mentoring, and providing consulting work for junior consulting staff
Developing and growing the Vehicle Engineering PracticeYou will have the following skills and qualifications
Master's Degree or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field8+ years of work experience in ADAS, electric vehicles (EVs), autonomous vehicles (AVs), and/or vehicle safety, vehicle and automotive system design, development, testing, and deploymentAbility to generate business and manage client relationshipsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAnalytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to interact with managers, engineers, non-technical personnel, and clients and present technical topics in a cogent and comprehensible mannerStrong leadership an
