The budgeted range starts at $59,100 - $79,530 + annual bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
Job Summary:
The Senior Manager of Lift operations is responsible for safe uphill and downhill transportation of all of our guests, summer and winter. Making sure all of our employees receive the training, support and resources to fully understand and execute accordingly. Work with employees to fully explain our safety guidelines. Guest Experience – mentoring our employees, so that we are providing the best guest service possible. Leading the daily operations of our lift system and employees who operate the lifts. Be able to connect with Lift Maintenance team daily, pass along any information pertinent to the lifts. Working with our Patrol and Dispatch teams every day.
Job Responsibilities:
Interview, hire and train all lift operations personnel
Have a Safety First mentality and a Safe working atmosphere for our employees
Design orientation and training program and plan work schedules
Skiing or riding act as a roving supervisor
Craft and build mazes and screeds at the lifts, top and bottom
Performs management duties i.e. interviewing and selecting employees, scheduling, planning and guiding staff, has authority to hire or terminate staff or has particular input to the hiring, promoting or terminating staff on a regular basis
Help develop and work within defined labor and operating budgets
In the off-season lead all aspects of summer lift operations and assist with lift maintenance tasks as assigned
Skills (to include the following):
Ability to make responsible decisions at critical times
Strong communication and good judgment in handling guest relations on and off the ski slopes
Strong mathematical skills for budgets
Ability to coordinate and set work schedules
Excellent judgment skills as it relates to lift operations
Ability to delegate tasks to assistant manager and supervisors
Basic carpentry skills
Physical Demands (to include, but not limited to the following):
Ability to lift 75 pounds (heavy lifting)
Ability to shovel snow, operate a ski lift, load and unload the public on a ski lift, check tickets on guests, direct people through lift lines, and maintain snow conditions in lift areas in all weather conditions
Operate a snowmobile, ski, operate some equipment including an all-terrain vehicle, and motor vehicle
Extended periods of standing, sitting, bending, overhead reaching and driving
Ability to work in various weather conditions
Ability to climb and work at heights
Certifications/Diplomas/Prerequisites:
High School diploma or equivalent preferred
Prior experience operating a ski lift as well as leading staff
Possess a valid driver’s license
Past experience managing staff
The expected pay range is $59,100 - $79,530 + annual bonus. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
