The Talent Acquisition eXperience & Innovation Learning & Development Team is building learning for the FUTURE – rethinking not only the content we produce, but the way content is consumed. We are a team of product and L&D specialists who work closely with science, technology and metrics to drive new ways of learning in the workplace for global hiring.   We’re seeking a Sr. Learning Experience Designer (LXD) to develop world-class learning solutions for our customers worldwide within our interviewing and recruiting learning products. In this position, you will be an architect and leader in creating and improving learning products. You will work on instructional design projects that utilize your expertise in learning theory, instructional technologies, and human performance technology to enhance the performance of Amazonians. The solutions you create will enable improved employee experience, shorten lead times to proficiency, and provide performance support at the point of need.

  Key job responsibilities

  Design, develop, and deploy training as part of a blended learning strategy

  Partner with cross-functional teams to build out development experiences with a global mindset

  Solve business problems with focus on understanding root causes and driving forward-looking opportunities

  Work with technical SMEs to design and create engaging end user training

  Manage multiple complex curricula development projects simultaneously

  Measure impact and quickly revise modality to address specific feedback, as needed

  Create reliable and valid learner evaluation tools to gauge knowledge and skill transfer

  Drive use of evaluation and performance data to improve learning content

  Partner with business stakeholders to understand program goals and define the learning solution that will make their programs successful

  Manage your projects amidst ambiguity, competing priorities, and challenging deadlines

  Raise the bar for learning design excellence within critical verticals across the Talent Acquisition landscape

  A day in the life

  The Sr. Learning Experience Designer will ensure that we’re aligned to the highest value learning opportunities to not only improve our learner experience, but to drive internal development processes as well. Responsibilities include working with cross-functional teams on process optimization and guided development products, while designing training paths that support increases in efficiency and quality across the hiring funnel for recruiters, hiring managers, interviewers and Bar Raisers. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast paced, highly engaged environment and has the ability to connect the dots organizationally, network effortlessly and influence various roles, levels and profiles to drive collaboration.

  About the team

  Talent Acquisition eXperience & Innovation Learning & Development team is responsible for providing training and development based learning paths to all new and existing interviewers, hiring managers, Bar Raisers, and recruiters world-wide. Our team is constantly looking to optimize the training experience and provide teams with ability to hire bar-raising talent efficiently.

  We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

  Seattle, WA, USA

  Basic Qualifications

  Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as instructional technology, educational technology, organizational development or equivalent instructional technology work experience

  5+ years of work experience in instructional design

  3+ years experience in authoring tools, such as Articulate 360, Camtasia, Vyond, or similar

  Experience gathering, building, interpreting, and communicating performance metrics to multiple organizational levels

  Preferred Qualifications

  Master's degree in related field

  Industry certifications in instructional curriculum performance improvement, project management, and content-specific certifications as appropriate (e.g. CPLP, CPT, PMP, etc.)

  Advanced multimedia development in audio, video, and/or animation (e.g. Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop)

  Experience with emerging trends for content creation (e.g. gamification, virtual reality, augmented reality and xAPI)

  Basic web development experience (HTML, Java, CSS)

  Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $110,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $215,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
