Description:

　　Our client is looking to hire a Sr. IT Engineer to join their infrastructure team of 7. This persons primary responsibility will be the subject matter expert over their server and VM environment. Currently they have about 70 VM's in the environment and are utilizing VMware and Nutanix. Being a smaller organization they are looking for someone that is open to wearing multiple hats and will also handle some core networking work as well as help out with the office 365 administration too. Currently they have o365 & some HR systems in the cloud, but the majority of everything else is on prem. They also will come across AD, VPN configurations, group policies within Active Directory.

　　Their team currently has SME's in the SQL, Sharepoint, Network Engineering, Security space so they will work closely with the person that is hired in.

　　Role will be on site 5 days a week in their Detroit, MI location and hours range from a 6am-8am start time (flexible to candidates preference) and would be an 8 hour day. Technically the person is on call for extreme emergencies, however all lines of operation at the plant have dedicated IT on site so it would need to be a true emergency that can't be solved at the lower level.

　　Ideal candidate will have 6-8 years of total IT experience within the infrastructure space.

　　o Responsible for the design, configuration, and implementation of the network infrastructure including, switches, routers, Wireless Access Points/ Controllers, and firewalls

　　o Provides escalated on and off hours support for all escalated IT issues

　　o Maintains expert level skills with multiple IT infrastructure elements including Cisco network hardware, Nutanix storage systems, VMWare, and Microsoft Operating Systems, SolarWinds (Incident and Performance Management Tool)

　　o Manages the IP Address schema for the network infrastructure

　　o Provides the technical designs and configurations for infrastructure security including VPN services, domain controls, security policies, firewall configurations, and administrative levels

　　o Strong understanding of physical and logical network segmentation including VLANs and IP subnetting

　　o Knowledgeable in TCP/IP configurations, network addressing, and IP address management

　　o Strong understanding of the OSI Model with an emphasis on Layers 1-4

　　o Skilled in network routing protocols including OSPF and EIGRP

　　o Expertise with DNS and DHCP

　　o Strong skills in structured in both copper and fiber cabling

　　o Strong expertise in troubleshooting network issues including connectivity and latency for both the production and office environments

　　o Ability to configure and maintain network management and monitoring systems such as Solarwinds

　　o Knowledgeable with ITIL processes and procedures

　　o Experience using Visio to document and maintain the network drawings and documentation

　　o Tier 1 automotive interior supplier experience is desirable

　　o Able to perform in a very demanding environment where change is common.

　　o Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
