The Doe Run Company is currently seeking a Sr. HVAC Mechanic to ensure efficient operation of all equipment used for heating, cooling, and ventilation at the recycling operation to meet operating condition needs for people and equipment. Includes maintenance support for on-site HVAC systems, stationary, and mobile applications compliant with local, state, and federal requirements. This position is located at our Buick Resource Recycling Division (BRRD) in the heart of the beautiful Mark Twain National Forest in Boss, MO.
Job Responsibilities:
Maintain and repair all HVAC equipment and components to manufacturer's specifications meeting operational needs for reliability. Includes troubleshooting, start, stop, seek status, or change conditions on HVAC systems.Complete and close out work orders in the Computerized Maintenance Management System, recording time worked and material used. Maintain proper inventory of consumable parts and supplies to support HVAC systems.Complete routine inspection protocol and schedule for equipment.Install new systems as needed for heating, cooling, and ventilation.Conduct research on new equipment and procedures and recommend new systems and modifications.Discharge and recharge AC units in compliance with regulations and permit requirements.Weld, solder, and bend piping and conduit. Train and mentor less experienced HVAC mechanics.Complete tasks in a safe and environmentally compliant manner by following EHS (environmental, health, and safety) policies, procedures, and best practices; support and assist peers in working in a safe, compliant manner; report unsafe acts or conditions, incidents, and deviations; and provide feedback to support continuous improvement in EHS performance.Other duties as assigned.Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.Technical training in HVAC required. Completion of HVAC training program preferred.EPA Section 608 preferred.Proficient in computer use.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to analyze HVAC system requirements.Ability to interpret equipment diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.Ability to utilize diagnostic equipment to assess malfunctions and determine repair needs.Ability to plan work based upon appropriate sequency and procedures.Ability to install, troubleshoot and repair HVAC equipment: heat pump, Chiller, wiring, PLC, Electrical, Hydronic, centralized boilers, circulation pumps.Proficiency with 120v, 480v, and 600v units as well as wiring configurations.Knowledge/experience in fabrication and sheet metal.Knowledge/experience with ISeries and Peoplesoft preferred.Environmental Conditions, Physical and Lifting Requirements:
Regularly required to wear a respirator and PPE including safety helmet and steel toe footwear. Frequently required to work near moving mechanical parts at heights of 4 or more with fall protection, work in outdoor weather conditions (non-weather) and extremeheat (non-weather), exposed to loud noises. Occasionally required to work with vibration.Regularly required to hear and grasp. Frequently required to feel objects, stand, reach with hands, stoop, and kneel. Occasionally required to sit, talk, push, walk, drive, climb, balance, repetitive movement, move up and down. Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more, 20 inches or less, three-dimensional vision- ability to judge distance and space relationships, precise hand-eye coordination, ability to identify and distinguish colors.Regularly required to lift 5 pounds. Frequently required to lift up to 25 pounds. Occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds.
