Job Summary
Performs research and analysis of complex healthcare authorizations and claims data regarding utilization and cost containment information. Evaluates, writes, and presents healthcare utilization and cost containment reports and makes recommendations based on relevant findings. Oversees development, organization, and ongoing maintenance of data representing a wide range of healthcare information.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
• Oversees development, organization, and ongoing maintenance of data representing a wide range of healthcare information.
• Develops and directs a process to clean and integrate complex healthcare datasets in order to create the data foundation for further analytics and the development of key insights.
• Supervises completion of special projects as requested, by various internal departments, or in support of requests from regulatory agencies, contracting agencies, or other external organizations.
• Oversees, establishes, and maintains timelines for reports and projects.
• Ensures quality of output by submitting work product for quality checks and reviews and performing similar functions for other staff..
Job Qualifications
Required Education
Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Experience
3-5 years
Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Familiarity with healthcare data/payment concepts (e.g., claims data structure/contents, claim types, payment concepts, CPT/HCPCS codes, ICD-10 codes)
Experience in preparing data and information for executive reports and presentations
Experience with databases having complex structures and relationships
Experience building and maintaining models and dashboards to support visualization of complex healthcare data
Experience trending data and conducting statistical analysis to produce actionable insights that guide healthcare policy
Academic coursework in statistics, econometric modeling, or other comparable coursework
Fluency in SQL and MS Office and experience with analytical software such as Excel, Power BI, etc.
Preferred Licenses and Certifications
Healthcare Data Analyst Certification (e.g., Certified Health Data Analyst [CHDA])
Healthcare licensure (e.g., Registered Nurse [RN], Licensed Vocational Nurse [LVN], Certified Professional Coder [CPC], etc.)

Pay Range: $49,430.25 - $107,098.87 / ANNUAL
