Job Summary
The Sr Director, Inventory Operations & Demand Planning will be responsible for leading the demand planning team as well as 4 key areas of support for the IRP team: COE for IRP Systems Support, COE for Training and Onboarding – systems, process and theory, IRP Initiatives, and Inventory Analytics. This leader is required to be a business knowledge expert in demand, inventory planning and replenishment and will play a key role in shaping the foundation and transformation work under the IRP umbrella. The leader will also have direct responsibility of the global demand planning team for all of IRP. In partnership with the SVP of IRP, they will set the demand planning strategy and vision and provide the leadership and guidance for performing forecasting and data science functions across IRP. They govern the operational sales forecast setting accuracy targets and the vision and strategy of how we'll achieve MAPE and Bias targets while staying aligned with the financial forecast and business strategies. For the COEs they will be responsible for managing a team exempt-graded replenishment, inventory planning, or systems support professionals who function as a Center of Excellence for the Inventory, Planning and Replenishment division and will be responsible for providing area-specific subject matter expertise on systems, both current platforms as well as assessment of future platforms, in partnership with Technology and DACI. This team will also own skills and tools training across the spectrum, from new hires to advanced skills. This team will own inventory policy guidelines and governance/controls and will steer process re-engineering and improvement. This team will also project lead/coordinate across the organization development and deployment of solutions-tools that are built on top of major systems' platforms that improve associate productivity and effectiveness. This leader sets the strategic focus in prioritizing direction along with allocating team resources as appropriate to support divisional requests as well as create a regular cadence of training and process review. This leader will head up a team of individuals who will support all IRP initiatives ranging ecommerce support to command center activities, new store openings, IRP support of company initiatives and more. This leader will guide the process and direction of supporting these key initiatives, often representing the IRP team on behalf of the SVP and/or VPs. This leader will also head up the IRP Analytics team who provide rapid insights for specific IRP needs while we work to improve both inventory visibility and metric governance. This team works hand in glove with DACI to ensure the IRP team has accurate data to take action and make strategic decisions, including weekly reporting and scorecards leveraged by the team. The Sr. Director leads this highly skilled team of professionals and will be a direct partner to the SVP of Inventory Replenishment and Planning as well as the VP's of Inventory. The outcome of the leadership from this role will be a significantly greater coordination of continuous improvement within the division, and dedicated resources that provide greater visibility to inventory and in-stock performance, and to ensure our replenishment and planning associates continue to advance their skills in a structured manner.
Key Responsibilities
Directs strategic collaboration with Inventory VP’s, Directors, and Merchandising MVP’s to define key support opportunities in process and/or systems.
Ensures team is collaborating with Inventory Planning and Replenishment, Technology, and DACI to execute improvements to tools/systems, reporting/insights, functional skills, and process.
Provides thought leadership and direction for Demand Planning, tied to supporting company objectives.
Provides the leadership direction and support for IRP initiatives. Directing the team on what and how to execute to support the business.
Serves as a thought leader on IRP foundation and transformation work, often representing the SVP in key meetings.
Establishes regular cadence of skills’ training curriculum and process review, including standing up a regular onboarding process for new hirers.
Serves as the main point of contact for Technology on future systems’ tools assessment, including business owner of capital budgeting and CAC approval. Represents the business in roadmap meetings as the voice of IRP, providing the strategic direction for the IRP organization.
Assumes direct accountability for allocating team resources to support divisional requests and training schedules; prioritizes workload to ensure deadlines are met and essential functions are completed.
Provides appropriate systems, tools, and development support for team-members to equip them to successfully achieve flow efficiency goals; facilitates team training as needed to support the business area.
Responsible for career development of all direct reports, including supporting their career aspirations and driving overall associate engagement.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree Business, Finance, Supply Chain/Logistics or related field and 11 Years Work experience in planning, supply chain/logistics, or related field
5 Years Leading cross functional teams, large projects or team development
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree Business, Finance, Supply Chain/Logistics or related field
Experience with JDA and Micro Strategy and/or other planning, allocation, and replenishment systems
