  How you will make an impact:

  The Life Sciences Solutions Group (LSG) and Bioproduction Group (BPG) within Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant in Carlsbad, CA. The Senior Cost Accountant will be a key partner and lead all LSG and BPG businesses in calculating the quarterly E&O provision, recording the monthly and quarterly adjustments to the E&O provision, and providing critical data used for E&O analysis and forecasting.

  What you will do:

  Lead Global E&O Team and provide them with monthly/quarterly tasks and supporting data and review their deliverables.

  Prepare month-end close Journal Entries with supporting documentation.

  Confirm accuracy of consolidated PRE Tool E&O Data & submit required manual adjustments

  Add non-core ERP sites to the PRE Tool and Power BI.

  Maintain our standard process according to Thermo Fisher policy.

  Partner with the Finance Director, Cost Accounting, to review business cases and obtain approvals for all E&O exception requests.

  Collaborate with Finance team and support them with forecasting data to help mitigate the risk ahead of time.

  Analyze the E&O/Expired data and provide leadership with detailed review that shows the business reason of the change every quarter.

  Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations for E&O accounts.

  Work with internal and external auditors on quarterly basis to ensure our process complies with corporate policies.

  Support in the annual cost roll and lead the E&O revaluation process

  Lead and participate in practical process improvement (PPI) and the implementation of new procedures and tools

  Maintain SOX compliance.

  How will you get here:

  Education:

  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant disciplineExperience:

  Minimum of 5 years of experience is required, preferably supporting manufacturing.

  Experience in the use of ERP systems and analytical tools, especially E1 (J.D. Edwards), SAP and Power BI

  Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  Proficiency in Excel advanced formulas (Power Query would be helpful) and PowerPoint

  Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  Must be able to interface effectively at all levels and demonstrate good judgment, and tact and diplomacy with internal customers. Self-initiative, strong organization skills, and a positive attitude are helpful.

  Experience working in a matrixed organization is preferred.

  The salary range estimated for this position is $103,100 - $171,900. This position will also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. Actual compensation will be confirmed in writing at the time of offer.

  Compensation and Benefits

  The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $93,800.00–$154,700.00.
