　　The Position:

　　SGH seeks a rising engineering leader interested in growing the firmscivil, structural, and geotechnical engineering practices for industrialfacilities in the midwestern United States and Canada. This positionwill be part of our Structural Engineering team, providing a wide arrayof design, repair, and rehabilitation engineering services, which mayinclude engineering of industrial structures, process facilityarrangement and design, investigation, repair, and rehabilitation ofdeteriorated or underperforming structures, and existing facilitymodifications. Typical project work includes:

　　Lead the analysis and design of projects involving steel, concrete,and masonry structures, with emphasis on industrial structures andrelated infrastructure.Plan and implement design or analysis tasks using a variety ofbuilding codes and industrial standards.Help mentor and develop less experienced engineers.Manage client relationships within the context of project work.Assist in the preparation of drawings and specifications.Plan and conduct site investigations to document existing conditionsor investigate claims related to damage, overload, accident, fire,or similar.Execute the construction-administration phase of projects, includingbid assistance, submittal review, site meetings, observations ofcompleted work, etc.Interest and ability to co-publish articles/papers.Support contractor operations such as designing concrete mixtures,developing lifting plans, planning special operations, or designingshoring and access plans.Job Responsibilities:

　　The position responsibilities will be generally consistent with ASCEGrade IV and will include:

　　Preparing proposals, including budgeting and personnel requirements.

　　Planning work for review and approval by your supervisor.

　　Conducting assignments defined in terms of the nature of the expectedresults, requiring only general guidance on the approach to solvingunusual problems.

　　Managing a complex project or part of a project with responsibility forall pertinent supervisory work, evaluating results, and preparingreports with minimal assistance.

　　Delegating tasks using a coaching relationship for supervising thetechnical work of project staff.

　　Managing direct client contact within existing work while building andnurturing relationships with external project team members.

　　Actively contributing to internal technical training.

　　Drafting complex letters, formal reports, letter reports,specifications, and proposals with minimal supervisor guidance.
