Job Description
The Senior Analyst – Site System Administrator is responsible for the operation and support of Information Technology at one or more Grace manufacturing locations. The Senior Analyst – Site Systems Administrator is also responsible for the support of IT functions at other locations in the region as directed by the IT Manager – Service Delivery NA/LATAM.
Responsibilities
Management of all information technology systems, network systems, wireless systems and connected devices. This includes all personal computers, servers (Physical & Virtual), printers, portable devices and Infrastructure software.
Local Telecommunications services coordination which may include management of those services. This may include telephone systems, wireless telephones, radios and other communication devices. This may also include all data communications, voice mail, paging, modem and fax services.
Manage PC and peripheral hardware and software, local and wide area network hardware and software, Vmware VDI, Cisco LAN equipment, access points, and network communications equipment on supported sites, including maintenance of asset and software inventory and appropriate licenses. Ensure data backup process is followed.
Provide guidance, training, troubleshooting support and expertise to users of local and wide area networks and local area network operating systems and applications on supported sites.
Liaise between IT and owners of all security, monitoring and access-control systems with possible management of those services locally. This includes all security and process monitoring video equipment, access-control systems including gate and door access, communications for fire and other safety systems, data protection, firewall systems, and some aspects of physical security.
Coordination of all communications between Process Control and Corporate Information Systems. This requires close coordination and a working relationship with the Control Systems Engineer.
Support of Laboratory Systems and associated equipment. Assistance with troubleshooting and configuration of laboratory equipment.
Coordination of application development including local applications, databases, web services and data systems used at the plant and other supported sites. These activities are usually developed as requested based on business needs.
Participation as a member of the Grace Information Technology team on various projects, implementation of technology, testing of equipment, development of standards or documentation of architecture. This participation may be optional or required as directed by management.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science Degree and a minimum of 10 years of experience in Information Technology or 15 years of experience in Information Technology without a BS degree.
Extensive knowledge of Intel based hardware; Microsoft based operating systems, Vmware and software as well as Cisco networking technologies. Telephony experience, including VoIP, a plus.
Extensive knowledge of Information Technology deployed in a manufacturing environment with a working knowledge of process automation.
This position requires travel to sites within the region and to the Corporate Offices in Columbia, MD and/or NA Region. Estimated 5-10% travel to perform job duties.
