　　THIS IS A PERMANENT PART TIME POSITION --30 HOURS PER WEEK COMPANY PROVIDES FULL BENEFITS

　　A well-respected firm in the Transportation industry is working with Robert Half to find a Senior Accountant with 3 plus years of experience. This role handles essential tasks, such as accounts payable and receivable, account analysis and reconciliations, general ledger and sundry general accounting duties. In addition you will be involved in the accounting close which includes assisting with financial statement preparation and financial analysis of Profit and Loss statements . Candidates should enjoy analytical tasks, challenges, and fast-paced environments. Located in Uniondale, New York, this Senior Accountant role is with a leading logistics and transportation company. 　　Typical responsibilities include:

　　-Provide monthly accounting closure procedures and deliverables, which includes journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP

　　-Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable management

　　-Supply Balance Sheet and Income Statement account reconciliations

　　-Sundry General Accounting responsibilities

　　-Maintenance of General Ledger

　　-Backup Treasury Manager in all cash requirements

　　-Special projects as required

　　Requirements - Expertise in Accounts Receivable (AR)

　　Proven knowledge of Microsoft Excel

　　Foundational knowledge in general ledger

　　General Accounting experience

　　Accounting close process experience highly desired

　　Comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)

　　Strong analytical skills, with the ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis

　　Efficient in ERP systems

　　Self-starter and strong ethical standards

　　Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines

　　BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred

　　Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment

　　Skilled at time management

　　Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued

　　Proficiency with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required

　　3+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience

　　SOX internal control assessments (Section 404) experience

　　Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

　　Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively throughout all levels of the company
