Job Summary
Summary of Job Function:
Performs diagnostic examinations and therapeutic interventions as required by physician orders. Provides patient services using sophisticated imaging techniques such as biplane and single plane fluoroscopy. With out open surgical procedures. Technologist is competent in production of quality images for proper treatment and diagnosis by physician. Maintains clean rooms and is not limited to reviewing and/or recording pertinent patient history and physiological data for interpretation by the radiologist / physician. Performs a variety of angiographic, interventional and special procedure exams. Processes billing and exam paperwork and maintains records and reports. Monitors and maintains equipment. Adheres to policies, procedures and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety. Reports equipment problems to Manager Regulatory Compliance Equipment Repairs & QA/QC operations. Assist Interventional Radiologist with examinations. Competent in RIS, IDX, PACS. Participates in the ordering and inventory of equipment and supplies for the Special Procedures/Interventional suite. Recognizes that continuing education is vital to maintaining and advancing the profession. Keeps technical skills current, demonstrating evidence of continuing education to include department meetings, individualized learning opportunities from radiologists, and related classes.
Job Qualifications:
Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, or Registry eligible, BLS Certification and New Jersey State Licensure.
