Clara B. Ford Academy is hiring a full time Special Education Teacher. A major portion of the Special Education Teacher's time will be spent in the regular general education classroom. 

　　Clara B. Ford Academy is a charter school for girls in grades 5-12. The Academy is located on the historic grounds of Vista Maria, a residential treatment facility in Dearborn Heights, Michigan. We focus on educating the whole child and live the motto of "Together WE will Treat, Heal, and Educate."  As a member of the CBF staff, you will work with a team-oriented, dedicated and passionate group of educators. 

　　Duties and responsibilities include the following:

　　Provide direct services to special education students that are supportive of the general education teacher.```{=html}

　　```- Provide consultation and assistance to general education teachers for planning and making accommodations for special education students. Team tech with general education teachers.

　　```- Develop lesson plans that address student academic, interpersonal, social and emotional needs.

　　```{=html}

　　```- Participate in RTI/TST Team meetings and assist with the evaluation of educational needs and intervention strategies for students suspected of being handicapped.

　　```- Schedule and conduct IEP Team meetings.

　　```- Identify student deficits and strengths and write individual students goals, objectives, transition plans and education plans (IEP).

　　```- Maintain student files in compliance and up to date.

　　```- Serve as liaison to parents/student advocates of special education students and encourage their participation and support in the program of services. Communicate regularly with families/advocates regarding instructional programming and student progress.- Make collaboration a priority with general education teachers and school leadership
