What will I be doing?
As Sous Chef, you will be working very closely with the Executive Chef, managing the operational requirements of the kitchen and the brigade. In this hands-on role, you will have the opportunity to create, inspire and deliver an outstanding culinary experience for our guests and a rewarding employment experience for our team.Specifically, you will perform the following tasks to the highest standards:
Contribute to menu design, using your creativity, flair and personal experienceEnsure the consistent production of high quality food throughout the hotelManage customer relations, when necessary, and in the absence of the Executive ChefSupport brand standards through the training and assessment of the TeamContribute to food and beverage revenue through effective food cost control measuresManage the kitchen brigade effectively to ensure a well-organized, motivated Team who are able to deliver a quality product for our guestsWhat are we looking for?
To successfully fill this exciting leadership role, you should possess:
Previous experience as an Executive Chef or Sous Chef in a luxury hotel environmentExperience with large volume catering and a la carteExcellent planning and organisation skillsThe ability to multi-task and meet deadlinesStrong management skillsA current, valid, and relevant trade qualification (proof may be required)A creative approach to the production of foodA passion for producing high quality foodProficiency with computers and computer programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel and OutlookHACCP accreditation ideally holding a Food Safety CertificateWhat will it be like to work for Hilton?
