Sourcing Specialist, CB
Purpose of the position
Leading to select H&CY supplier with best Quality, Delivery, and Cost performance.
H&CY Sourcing Specialist is an important member of the sourcing team and must be well aligned with division and central functions
This position is leading all supplier-related activities, both for ongoing production as well as new product introduction.
The position requires supplier management and negotiation skills.
The sourcing specialist needs to select suppliers and manage them towards expected performances and results.
Main tasks and responsibilities
Perform supplier selection.
Drive profits using cost-saving strategies and project management skills to effectively lower manufacturing costs for direct material spend.
Demonstrate good teamwork skills.
Optimize the supplier base for their respective category group and spend responsibilities.
Participate in the NPD and new item implementation process.
Perform supplier negotiations with a heavy emphasis on quality, delivery, and cost. Select and develop suppliers to achieve world-class results on quality, delivery, and cost.
Demonstrate a business mindset with sustainable results.
Responsible for maintaining a supplier base and monitoring suppliers KPI’s.
Responsible for new parts RFQ, evaluation and supplier selection.
Lead and drive cost reduction initiative.
Responsible and accountable for the product cost for their categories.
ERP system maintenance.
Drive innovation for future products within each category.
Continuously monitoring footprint within managed supplier base and ensure utilization of new footprint opportunities.
Initiate sourcing related processes.
Support supplier delivery & quality claim escalations within organization. Following sourcing escalation process routine.
Evaluates current and prospective suppliers through supplier reviews, site visits and audits, in coordination with Supplier Development teams, to assure supply capabilities, ontime delivery, quality and service.
Conduct Quarterly/Annual Business Review with critical suppliers.
Complies with company and local procedures applicable to the job function.
Ensure compliance with all category and division sustainability targets.
Contract negotiation with suppliers to maximize the benefit for Kalmar
What you’ll need to succeed
Education
Minimum bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or engineering or equivalent experience
A Master’s degree is a plus but not required.
Experience
A minimum of 2 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
Experience in Hydraulic and Cylinder purchasing is preferred
Competencies
The ideal candidate will bring purchasing/sourcing/supply chain experience with an in-depth knowledge of people and processes, preferably with an OEM or tier 1 supplier environment.
Value Engineering/Cost Reduction & Standardization experience highly preferred.
Project Management experience is an advantage.
Understanding of contract management and good negotiation skills.
Fluent in English.
Domestic and possibly international travel requirements are estimated to be 5% - 10%.
Very good communication and presentation skills.
Knowledge in Total Quality Management, Lean Manufacturing, ERP/MRP systems, and
Supply Chain optimization is valued.
Proficient in the use of Google Suite, including Sheets, Slides & Microsoft office software, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
Working together with:
Kalmar & Corporate Direct & Indirect Procurement teams.
Cross-Functional Stakeholders within business areas.
Other stakeholders across the Global Company (to the extent required)
