Zebra Technologies/Adaptive Vision is looking for an automation tester who will work as part of Test & Validation team in a long-term project related to industrial smart camera solutions.
Successful candidate will be writing automated tests (usually in JavaScript) for software and firmware features. The work will also include approving software/firmware changes for release and taking responsibility that any release company products meet applicable quality standards.
Responsibilities:
Designs, develops, and maintains manual & automation tests for desktop applications , w eb applications and APIs.
Ensures proper execution of test procedures and automated test suites and scripts.
Understands business requirements and comes up with test strategy to do different types of required testing and requirement traceability.
Work s with both the Product Owner and development team to understand QA needs and develop s QA Test Plan accordingly.
Follow s established Agile process and QA best practices, process and guidelines for high quality releases.
Execute s various testing activities such as Acceptance, Regression, System, Functional, Integration and some level of Performance testing.
Provides accurate problem identification, root cause analysis, ticket documentation and resolution.
Identif ies dependencies and risks/concerns with testing activities or release schedule. Plan s for end-to-end system testing cycles in physical lab.
Support s trials of new infrastructure designs/services.
Qualifications:
Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science or related field (must include at least three semesters of programming courses and a range of other IT-related subjects)
2+ years of professional work experience with manual and automated testing.
Familiarity with test automation of Node.JS using Express and JEST.
Proficient in JavaScript & TypeScript, basic knowledge of Python.
Hands on experience with Linux, GitHub, or Git related repositories
Key Skills and Competencies:
Strong experience using JEST/ Chai / Playwright Framework or desktop app-based automation frameworks.
Experience with common programming and scripting languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python.
Experience testing NodeJS APIs
Working knowledge of web technologies including REST, Web Servers, etc.
Must be a self-starter and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience working with geographically distributed test/development teams
Basic knowledge of SQL databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL
