As a Software Engineering Manager for DEX, you will lead a team in Bellevue, WA., focused on building a world-class local development experience that Data Engineers will use to ingest, transform, automate, and monitor data.You will focus on building products that you, your fellow engineers, your partner teams, and our customers will love to use to work with their data. You will foster a safe, highly transparent, high-performance culture that the team has come to expect. You will drive clarity on our strategy and partner with amazing product managers to chart the quarterly and long-term roadmaps for the team. You will ensure that the team is executing towards serving the current needs of its customers, while also ensuring that we stay ahead of technological trends and future demands.OUR IDEAL MANAGER WILL HAVE :Strong passion for making data engineers and developers highly productive.5+ years of software engineering management experience.10+ years industry experience building SaaS applications and productsA track record of leading technical teamsExperience working with modern distributed build systems, IDEs and cloud-based developer environments.Proven experience with authoring roadmap documents, project plans and RCAs.Ability to work in a team environment, collaborate well, and mentor both experienced and junior engineers.A strategic mindset and strong sense of what to prioritize for maximum impact.Excellent interpersonal communication skills.Outstanding written and oral English language skills.Ability to work on-site at our Bellevue, WA offices.Fluency in Typescript, Javascript, SQL, and/or PythonBONUS POINTS FOR EXPERIENCE WITH THE FOLLOWING :DBT, Airflow, Spark, or similar data engineering toolsDevelopment of extensions for IDEs such as Visual Studio CodeThe following represents the expected range of compensation for this role:The estimated base salary range for this role is $214,000 - $327,750.Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Snowflake's bonus and equity plan.The successful candidate's starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.
