The Teradyne Software Engineering team is looking for a highly motivated, energetic, technically driven Software Engineer to join our FPGA/ASIC development team in this Tool Development role. Development occurs in a dynamic and challenging onsite development environment. This individual will report directly to the Software Engineering.
This is a hybrid position based out of our North Reading, MA location.
Responsibilities
Design, implementation, test and deployment of software tools for the FPGA/ASIC development team
Understanding customer requirements and finding solutions that fit within our existing development architecture.
Develop scalable, high-performance, high-quality, extensible, and maintainable software.
Candidate responsibilities also include participation code-reviews and guidance of early-career software developers in:
Best practices for project management
Best practices for large Python project development
Best practices (including code structure, unit test, functional test, etc.) for long-lived products.
Ability to participate in cross-functional teams focused on development effectiveness and efficiency.
Ability to understand and utilize or migrate legacy code (Perl, Ruby, TCL, Make, C, etc.)
Basic Qualifications & Skills
Minimum of 5 years of practical linux-based software development experience, 7-10 years is a strong plus
Implementation and Deployment
Use of Unit-tests; Python, Jenkins and Git-Hub.
Languages: Perl, Python, Linux-shell
Physical Design, Functional Verification, IP management, Source Code Management, etc.
Excellent troubleshooting, debugging, and problem solving skills
Solid verbal and written skills
Commitment to excellence, efficiency, and product quality
Solid presentation skills
Education
BS or MS in computer science, computer engineering, or related field or relevant experience #LI-SMTER
