Overview
Designs, creates, and maintains efficient and quality code, tests, implements and documents software applications and processes. Able to translate requests from the business community into software solutions. Demonstrates technical competence and leadership across a full life cycle of application development from initial requirements to final implementation. Works independently and with teams under general supervision according to established procedures and policies.
This is a hybrid position and will require two days a week working on the Oakbrook Terrace, IL office.
Responsibilities
Responsible for completing all components of the IT full project SDLC. Responsible for completing all components of the IT Agile and small project methodology.
Lead and/or participates in all phases and is responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing and supporting applications on time and within budget. Ensures quality project prior to implementation.
Provide ongoing support and maintenance for Workday modules, addressing user issues, troubleshooting problems, and ensuring system stability.
Participate in system upgrades and rollouts, ensuring a smooth transition and minimal disruption to end-users.
Stay updated on Workday releases and new features, assessing their impact and implementing relevant enhancements.
Performs and supports Technical Leads and Analysts in performing lead activities including resource task management, forecasting estimates for completion of assignments as well as project team status reporting.
Exhibits strong problem-solving skills and resourcefulness. Uses expertise to identify and analyze problems and assess potential issues to improve applications in a timely manner. Ensures all deadlines and commitments are met by providing technical guidance and mentoring to team members.
Listens, interprets and documents business user requirements and/or requests. Works with IT teams to understand and develop detailed project specifications. Presents ideas and approaches to the development team, which includes participation in the development of presentations.
Demonstrates ability to develop complete understanding of TJC business processes and IT systems. Maintains detailed knowledge about assigned applications as well as other TJC business processes and their interfaces to various applications.
Develops and maintains system documentation for new and existing applications. Identifies and analyzes gaps between current processes and the desired state, designs new processes, develops process performance measures, and plans the transition to a new process.
Treat team members fairly and builds relationships within and across departments.
Should be comfortable in a fast-paced development environment that continually embraces the latest technologies and techniques.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other related field OR equivalent work experience.
5+ years of experience with Workday (Financial Core) Integrations and Reporting.
Complex reporting experience (calculated fields, Workday object model)
Must have experience in design, development, and Implementation of integrations to External Systems using Workday Integration tools (e.g. Core Connector, EIB and WD Studio)
Experience in building inbound Studio integrations using SOAP web services and should have knowledge in developing API connector Integrations with external applications.
Expertise knowledge in using Workday Web services for inbound integrations.
Experience with moving custom reports within different Workday application tenants and validate data for all tenants and also scheduled custom reports and developed Alerts for custom reports.
Experience with BIRT reports.
Experience in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues within the Workday system.
Experience with Workday security setup and configuration.
Experience with Agile principles and methodologies
DESIRED Technical Skills:
2+ years experience with Workday HCM integrations and reporting.
Hands on experience with PRISM
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to create excellent software development lifecycle documentation.
Works independently or as a part of a team under general supervision.
Ability to mentor/coach Software Engineer.
Proficient at taking a project from inception to completion including project planning, status reporting, requirements gathering, design, coding, unit and integration testing and implementation of a quality product.
Able to conduct as well as negotiate and convince participants in team meetings with IT staff including business users.
Ability to prepare effective presentations.
