About Software Engineer

  DESCRIPTION:

  Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Responsible for the craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience and scalability of software solution. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions. Drive decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes. Lead the innovation, and perform proof of concept and the implementation of cutting-edge technologies. Influence peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies.

  QUALIFICATIONS:

  Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Project Manager, Project Lead, Software Programmer, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Project Manager, Project Lead, Software Programmer, or related occupation.

  Skills Required: Requires experience in the following: Linux; Unix; Windows; Agile SDLC; Waterfall SDLC; Microservices; Apache Kafka; Docker; Jenkins; NodeJS; Java; JavaScript; React; Scala; SQL; Typescript; XML; Bootstrap; REST; SOAP; Maven; MongoDB; Oracle; GIT; Automated Testing; System Integration Testing; and Unit Testing.

  Job Location: 8181 Communications Pkwy., Plano, TX 75024. Telecommuting permitted up to 20% of the week.
