ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:
As a software engineer for Submarine Combat Systems, you’ll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for delivering advanced mission capabilities to the US and Australian submarine forces.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 3+ years of job-related experience or a Master's degree. Agile experience preferred.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with Red Hat Linux Kickstart creation and modification
Proficiency in Java, especially using Spring Boot to create microservices
Kubernetes or Cloud experience
Proficiency in web development frameworks such as Node.JS, Angular, React
Ability to interact effectively with project teams, managers and end users
Certification in Red Hat Enterprise Linux
Previous experience with the AN/BYG-1 Combat Control System
Experience using open source RDMS databases such as MariaDB, MySQL
Experience using data access objects using open source tools such as hibernate
Experience using open source messaging products such as AMQP, kafka, gRPC, REST
Experience with Agile development and working on sprint teams
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Creative thinking with the ability to multi-task
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative (team) environment
