　　Amazon’s Automated Marketing & Events organization is building the Internet’s largest-scale Search Marketing systems worldwide. The team is responsible for a number of business-critical systems that generates, target, measures and optimizes hundreds of millions of search engine ad placements and organic search listings (SERPs). We bring prospective customers who start their shopping journeys on search engines to Amazon through our ML-driven softwares and systems. We apply best-in-class digital marketing optimization techniques like search engine optimization (SEO) to process and optimize billions of webpages, images, videos and content snippets to improve Amazon’s organic discoverability. We routinely solve challenges related to large-scale distributed services, applied science (ML/NLP), big data systems and web search services. The ideal candidate for this role is a technical leader who is a tech visionary and a builder at heart. As the leader of this team, you will hire, build and develop a team of software development engineers responsible for developing the technology to optimize customer shopping experience for tens of millions of user queries that happen daily over search engines. You will own the technical direction for the team, and you will be leading key projects from ideation all the way to deployment. 　　Key job responsibilities

　　Hire, manage, mentor and grow a high performance team of Software Engineers.

　　Work with business leaders and product managers to define team's strategical plans, product vision and requirements.

　　Create, prioritize, communicate, and execute roadmaps, project plans, and commitments.

　　Provide technical expertise and leadership throughout product life cycles, influence software engineers best practices for your team and own operational metrics.

　　Work with engineers to define technical requirements, architect and execute best-in-class implementations in agile manner.

　　Build and maintain world-class customer experience and operational excellence for your deliverables.

　　Continuously innovate and simplify our software systems and operations.

　　Basic Qualifications

　　3+ years of engineering team management experience

　　7+ years of engineering experience

　　3+ years of leading development of applications backed by AWS services or using other cloud based technologies and services experience

　　Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations

　　Experience partnering with product or program management teams

　　Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both technical and non-technical discussions

　　Ability to solve complex technical problems and design robust, scalable solutions

　　Preferred Qualifications

　　Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy

　　Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

　　Experience in development of distributed/scalable systems and high-volume data processing and transaction applications.

　　Ability to think critically and actively contribute to strategic choices

　　Experience with AWS technologies, big data technologies and Machine Learning
