  About the team

  Amazon Verified Permissions (AVP) is seeking a Software Development Engineer to design, build, and support software solutions for our customers who use the Cedar policy language. You will be part of a team that is responsible for all aspects of the Cedar developer experience. You will be working with new technologies that improve usability and increase performance and scalability. You will help redefine normal for this segment of the market. You will help translate business requirements to technical deliverables and deliver operationally stable solutions that provide a good customer experience.

  We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

  Arlington, VA, USA

  Basic Qualifications

  3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  Experience programming with at least one software programming language

  Preferred Qualifications

  3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

  Experience developing software in the Rust programming language
