The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with team focused on reducing the Windows OS license cost. This position requires a solid understanding of Datacenter/VM architectures, Virtualization, Performance benchmarking and in-depth understanding of Windows OS troubleshooting,
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Baseline the windows OS CPU consumption across different chipsets like Intel, AMD, virtualization (Citrix) and hypervisor combinations.
Study the VM deployment model in OCI and come up with proposal for best deployment which can reduce the windows license cost.
Analyze and come up with proposals for optimal capacity planning and dynamic utilization of servers in order to reduce the CPU cores consumption.
Work closely with architecture, and operations teams to ensure the migration of Millennium between different OS versions are done very optimally and saving the cost of licenses.
Proactively identify gaps in the existing infrastructure and development process, acting as a catalyst for change for greater system and solution efficiency
Reporting the progress and hurdles very clearly at regular cadence to leadership.
Keeping updated with technology involving Intel chipsets, Windows OS, VMware and Citrix.
Skill sets
Profound software development and systems debugging experience with windows-based systems.
Working expertise with windows OS related optimizations and trouble shooting.
Good understanding of windows OS internals is must.
Expertise with VMWare hypervisor tuning and scaling.
Expertise with cloud hosting with any one cloud provider.
Experience with profiling and benchmarking CPU and Memory utilization.
Knowledge on Citrix virtualization is required.
Data Analytical skill, Python/R coding skills are added advantage.
Working directly with clients across globe is added advantage.
