Job Description
Volant Partners, Inc is seeking a Software Architect to assist our clients with the development and deployment of their products. Responsibilities will vary by client project, but the selected candidate will lead and contribute to areas such as system solution and design, planning, estimation, software development, testing, and model-based software engineering. In addition, responsibilities will include working closely with stakeholders and all members of the development team throughout the software development lifecycle to ensure smooth delivery according to project milestones.
As subject matter experts, selected candidates will use their depth of software engineering knowledge to perform these tasks and introduce best practices to our clients. Successful candidates will be self-starters that are comfortable in situations where success is dependent on quickly understanding client challenges and addressing them.
This individual must have excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) and be able to communicate effectively with different engineering disciplines, project, and client leadership.
This position will be a hybrid of remote (working from home) and onsite work so we are only seeking candidates in the greater Seattle area.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, mathematics, electrical, computer science, or related technical course of study10+ years of software development experienceExperience with model-based engineering using BPMN and/or UMLExcellent knowledge in one or more programming languages (e.g. Python, Java, C#, Kotlin, Rust)Experience with cloud-native and hybrid cloud projectsA strong understanding of cloud architecture and DevOps practices to support the deployment and operation of software solutionsStrong fundamentals in operating systems and network protocols.Strong analytical and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.Experience using Confluence and Jira, or similarDemonstrated experience with industry standard software development best practices for Agile and Iterative SDLCs, development methodologies, implementation, and deployment activitiesExperience in every-day use of software version control systems (git).Experience in a continuous integration environment (e.g., GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins)Experience in working with managed requirementsAs a consultant, ability to effectively coordinate with client stakeholders and/or end users.Fluent English in speech and writing (frequent communication with English-speaking clients)Must be a US Person - U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylumPreferred Qualifications
Experience working in regulated industries such as defense, aerospace, health, or automotive
