The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking anorganized, professional, and results oriented individual to serve asChild Protection Assistant. Under immediate supervision, this positionwill drive or travel with Child Protection Specialist staff to homes toassist in investigations of complaints regarding child abuse andneglect. The position will provide assistance to the Child ProtectionSpecialist as they conduct interviews with children and families intheir homes and in the community. This position provides a greatopportunity for someone who is passionate about children and interestedin playing a role in ensuring the safety of children. Job Responsibilities
Serves as Child Protection Assistant.
Observes children and reports to the Child Protection Specialist anyunusual behavior relating to the mental, social adjustment, and overallhealth of children.
Communicates to clients services available through DCFS and privateagencies.
Organizes and maintains automotive records and materials, includingmileage, maintenance, and expenses.
Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonablywithin the scope of the duties enumerated above.
