The Paid Social Media Strategist reports to the Social Media Supervisor and/or Social Media Director, supervising Assistant Strategists. The Social Media Strategist works closely with the media and analytics teams to maintain quality control of the active and upcoming social media campaigns and continually evaluates and optimizes performance against their client's goals. The Social Strategist also plays a key role in the social team's optimization strategies, projects/best practices and in our partner relationships.
Goal: Use technical foundation to build optimization strategies and overarching social media plans, across many partners that drive tangible client results, ensuring that our client's strategies are adapting in response to the rapid & dynamic social landscape
Team Outcome: Build client and team trust, train assistants, grow net media spend and client results
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead research, strategy, planning, and presentation of social media ad campaigns with full execution to internal and client teams
• Keep atop of social media industry standards, new technologies (i.e. API partners, data providers, emerging platforms), trends, and the competitive landscape
• Manages optimizations of campaigns to meet client goals
• Utilize management and analytics platforms to assist in strategy shifts, optimizations, and reporting.
• Proficient in social story-telling: Due to the art & science that exists within paid social social - due to ambiguity/lack of partner transparency, i.e. social algorithms, black-box auction mechanics, etc. - the strategist is able to balance a careful combination of data analysis skills, knowledge of GA social best practices/intel, and context driven by client and account historics to inform insights, reporting, tests, and optimizations
• Identify best practices and processes for social media management such as campaign set up, trafficking, targeting, and creative
• Close partnership with Account Management team to understand client needs and communicate insights and results back to the clients
• Develop and execute detailed creative testing plans (ad copy, image, CTA, etc.), analyze, and report results back to clients
Skills and Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree with 3.0 or higher GPA or equivalent work experience
Deep understanding of social media platforms & their ads tools, including but not limited to: Meta, Snap, TikTok Ads Manager
• Minimum 2 years' experience in social media advertising, planning and optimizing (Facebook Power editor/Ads Manager experience preferred)
• Experience with third party trafficking/measurement tools (i.e. Google's suite of ads tools)
• Strong communication skills for internal and client partnerships
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple campaigns and tight deadlines
• Problem solving and analytical skills coupled with the ability to act independently and reconcile/orient competing priorities
• Must be extremely organized and detail-oriented
