Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.SMT TECHNICIANRESPONSIBILITIES:Operate PCB assembly machines to manufacture circuit boards, including but not limited to:SMT placement, reflow, and solder printConformal coat, masking, epoxy application and coatingComponent kitting and measurementOptical and x-ray inspectionRoutine inspection and maintenance of equipmentPerform functional testing on flight hardwareInspect PCBAs for defectsMaintain tooling and consumable supply inventoryFollow work instructions and suggest improvementsDocument non-conformances and associated rework and quickly return non-conforming product back into normal workflowIndependently perform verifications and document results in a clear, precise and complete mannerBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or equivalency certificate2+ years of experience using hand toolsPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:5+ years of experience working in PCB assemblyExperience with SMT equipmentSoldering proficiency including IPC or JSTD certificationProficient with computers, the ability to use MS Office, shop floor management software (ERP) and related programsStrong understanding of technical documentation, engineering drawings, and schematicsExcellent communication and organizational skillsADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Must be willing to work all shifts, overtime and weekends as needed.
