The Small Business Credit Analyst is responsible for the underwriting and decisioning of small business credits through the use of a business credit scoring model in accordance with WPCU policies and procedures.
Work with business applicants directly to complete applications and facilitate upload of required documents. Work with business applicants directly on loan structure and terms consistent with WPCU credit policy. Analyze, underwrite, and approve Small Business loan requests, generally between $500-$250,000, to include loan credit scoring, cash flow analysis, financial review, application review, pipeline management and system administration. Obtain commitments from business applicants on loans that have been approved. Recommends and provides mitigation of risk to the Director of Commercial Credit Administration for loan requests that require an override for approval. Ensure Adverse Action rules and regulations are properly applied and documented for small business requests. Ensures proper policies, procedures, risk mitigation activities, and operating controls are followed. Reports gaps in policies, procedures, and operating controls to leadership to ensure member impact and risk is mitigated. (75%)
Provides, training, support and assistance to Member Centers and Member Business Services regarding the small business loan program including training classes and video learning. (15%)
Completes annual reviews on existing credits to include analysis of cash flow, financial condition, management ability, repayment history and adjustments to risk rating. (5%)

Required Skills
An Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business-related field is preferred.
A working knowledge of business cash flow is required.
A working knowledge of business and personal tax returns is required.
A working knowledge of business income statements and balance sheets is required.
An ability to interpret, analyze, and compile data is required.
A working knowledge of Excel is required.
A working knowledge of spreading business financial statements is preferred.
3 years of business or financial institution related experience is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to learn and utilize the necessary software to complete the job function.
