  Compensation Overview

  The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

  $66,500.00 - $109,700.00

  What Is the Opportunity?

  Travelers Investigative Services provides industry-first resources designed to detect and deter fraudulent claims. Our highly trained and experienced professionals are committed to a policy of a "zero-tolerance for fraud." As a Desk Investigator, you will be responsible for conducting desk based investigations in a dynamic, fast paced environment at a national level. You will investigate claims deemed suspicious in nature within all lines of business, including: Auto, Property, General Liability, and Workers Compensation. You will also be responsible for proactively analyzing data and predictive fraud model outputs to identify and investigate potential fraud opportunities.

  Ideal candidate must reside in or near Denver, CO, Phoenix AZ, Diamond Bar, CA, St. Paul, MN, or Portland, OR and must have the ability to work a hybrid work arrangement.

  What Will You Do?

  Conduct thorough and comprehensive desk based investigations in a dynamic, fast paced environment at a national level.

  Review and investigate potential questionable claims.

  Identify cases for potential insurance fraud prosecution and submit questionable claims to the National Insurance Crime Bureau.

  Identify underwriting concerns within a claim and complete underwriting referrals as appropriate.

  Apply Local, State and Federal statutes to ensure investigations are carried out within the requirements of applicable law and local office expectations.

  Analyzes, monitor, and convey highly technical information into actionable investigative strategies including the identification of complex case investigations.

  Conduct applicable database searches with a focus on uncovering all potentially fraudulent aspects of a claim.

  Use of analytical tools and software to interpret data and make informed decisions in an investigative capacity.

  Establish and maintain a liaison network with public officials, law enforcement officers, and others to obtain assistance in conducting investigations.

  Complete and submit compliance reporting to the respective state fraud bureaus on questionable claims investigated.

  May testify in court.

  Other duties as assigned.

  What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

  Bachelor’s Degree

  Three years of work experience within the insurance industry.

  Four years of investigative experience in the areas of Law Enforcement, Financial services, or risk management.

  Industry certifications (Certified Insurance Fraud Investigator or Certified Fraud Examiner)

  Data analytics and utilization skills with the ability to access, gather and interpret data.

  Strong communication skills with the ability to convey and explain results and influence others and workflows.

  Strong collaboration skills with the ability to create, foster and leverage relationships.

  Advanced problem solving and decision-making skills with the ability to think strategically.

  Excellent time management skills with the ability to work within tight timeframes, deadlines, and shifting priorities.

  Experience using database search platforms to leverage and analyze data.

  What is a Must Have?

  Two years of investigative experience in the areas of Law Enforcement, Financial services, or risk management and/or three years of multi-line claim handling experience.What Is in It for You?
